In our area, individuals, teams, volunteers and leaders from the NHS, local government and the community and voluntary sector have a history of working together to bring about improvements in health and wellbeing.
We understand that creating an environment which promotes and supports healthy, happy, and independent living is everyone’s responsibility. Individuals, communities, businesses and public sector organisations all have a part to play in tackling the inequalities which affect our life chances.
Our experiences of joint working, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, mean that we understand our strengths and the challenges our communities and organisations face. We are breaking down the barriers that stop health and social care services from working together more closely to support people. We have heard from health and care professionals, residents, and their representatives and are committed to making changes that will benefit everyone who lives and works in our area.
Thanks to the Health and Social Care Act 2022, our Integrated Care System (ICS) has the legal backing we need to transform health and care services for the better – working together for a healthier future for everyone in Hertfordshire and west Essex.
